Tips to consider when hiring a Texas A&M student
Discuss the student's class and exam schedule to ensure they have adequate time to balance work and school. If holidays and weekends are required, list the dates the student is expected to be available to work and have them agree before being hired.
Consider a Statement of Understanding outlining policies and expectations for requesting time off, dress code, eating on the job, etc. This should be signed before the student begins work or within the first few days of hire. The student is at Texas A&M to receive an education, but part-time employment can help a student achieve that goal and at the same time enhance the education they receive.
The Texas A&M Student Employment Office maintains an employment database where area employers may post available part-time positions free of charge. The Jobs for Aggies Job Board is available to all enrolled Texas A&M students in the Bryan/College Station area to search for part-time employment while in school. Visit the employer page to create an account and post job opportunities.
